Decent, but don't buy it here. This set is great for any Sleeping Beauty enthusiast. An older fan can display them; a younger one can still appreciate them, though they are not posable and could get damaged by rough play. My 3-year old does just fine with them; Maleficent and the dragon are particularly a hit, though as you can tell from the picture, the dragon isn't to scale, obviously. My one-star rating regards not the product but this price. I JUST bought this set this week for under $10 at a mall Disney store. Online, Disney was selling it for slightly more. Here, double and triple that? Shop around. Another winner Disney's figurine sets are great for any kid who's into Disney movies and stories. Each of these sets features characters kids relate to instantly, and trigger hours of fun, imaginative play. Belle Costume Really nice, My daughter only wants to wear her Belle Costume now. Only 1 minor problem. One of the velcro fasteners was defective. Lovely, but not made well. I bought this costume for Halloween for my daughter, and took her to a dress-up party the day before. The dress ripped in two places when she fell, and she was extremely upset. I had to mend the dress after a single afternoon's use, because the front stitching of the skirt was extremely poor: one zig-zag hem on polyester, which anyone who sews knows is just ridiculous because polyester frays so easily. They have also not bothered to hem the edges, which is ugly (to me, at least). Nevertheless, once mended this dress has worked really well for my daughter as a playdress, and although some stitches come loose here and there, I have not had to mend it again. I gave the fair rating because the dress is extremely pretty, the colours vibrant, and my daughter absoluetly loves it. We had holiday photos done with it and everything and it looks very luxurious. We also bought the shoes that go with the dress, and they broke ludicrously fast: don't get them, whatever you do! The size comes up small, and the colours are true to the picture. 4-6 just fits, although my daughter is 4 1/2. The hairband that comes with it is very nice, actually. It's a shame there aren't better alternatives for dress-up in the u.s. We got an Aurora dress for Christmas from Mothercare, uk, and that shop does much better quality for the money (£16 for a perfectly good play-dress, which is pretty, just as luxurious and doesn't break as soon you wear it).

Princess Ariel My newly 4 year old daughter had a mermaid themed birthday party this year, and I bought the DISNEY SHIMMER PRINCESS ARIEL doll as a cake decoration. My wee one loves Ariel, and I wanted a doll that would both look pretty on the cake, and be something my daughter could play with afterwards. The DISNEY SHIMMER PRINCESS ARIEL doll fits the bill perfectly. The DISNEY SHIMMER PRINCESS ARIEL doll is basically a "Barbie Doll" that looks like Ariel. She comes with a sparkly mermaid princess outfit, complete with a tiara and a wand that converts in to a ring for little hands. The mermaid outfit comes off (she has legs underneath), and other outfits are available, so this Ariel doll can turn into a human princess, too. Of course, in my little one's eyes, the best part is being able to change Ariel's clothes over and over again. As for the cake, it was shaped like a scallop shell. We wrapped Ariel's bottom ½ in plastic (sans the clothes), buried her in the cake up to her waist, and drew on an icing tail. The cake looked fantastic, and was the hit of the party. My daughter was thrilled. The DISNEY SHIMMER PRINCESS ARIEL doll was very easy to clean off afterward, and is none the worse for the experience. This is one of my child's favorite birthday gifts this year. And mom will have special memories of this special day because of the DISNEY SHIMMER PRINCESS ARIEL doll. She has legs... Ariel is my daughter's favorite princess, so this was an obvious choice. I wanted her to be able to undress her and change out the outfits, but the box does not clearly state if her mermaid fin can be removed to reveal "real" legs. She does have legs, so she can turn into a human for your child to play with! Yeah! It's a doll Well, there is no educational value to having this doll. It probably fills the children's head with a lot of vanity, but it's Ariel the little Mermaid, so it is a lot of fun.

Wonderful addition My girls are enjoying everything Princess Tiana and this was a wonderful addition. Remember to adjust the knob for the pictures from the movie projector to become clear. Good idea, but needs work The Princess and the Frog Movie Theater is a combination story book and device that's supposed to give your child the feeling of being at the movies. It includes the book, a wand projector and six plastic discs which are inserted into the projector. The discs can be stored in the little plastic case they arrive in, while the projector snaps back onto the story book for security when not in use. The front page of the book has clear illustrated directions on how to use the discs and projector with the parts of the projector clearly labeled. Embedded in the story are crown designs that are supposed to show you when to insert each numbered disc into the projector and when to rotate them. The story is roughly 30 pages long and uses pictures from the movie as the illustrations. My daughter enjoyed looking through the story and picking out her favorite scenes as we had seen the movie a few weeks ago. The projector seems sturdy enough and comes with batteries already installed. The focusing knob also helps to make the picture projection more visible on a wall, which is helpful. She really enjoys this set, but there is a negative. In order to use the projector, the room has to be dark. It's kind of hard to read the book in a dark room, so she's decided that she'll either read the storybook or play with the projector. I guess you could have someone read the book loudly in one room while the child operates the projector in the next room, but that seems like a lot of hassle. I'd give it three stars if I was using it, but since my daughter's played with it non-stop since it arrived, (and she's the target market) it gets four stars for entertainment value. very cute My daughter loves this book. The movie projector is a big hit. Cute concept. Cute story.

Cute but... This bedding set looks cute in my daughter's room but it is not very soft and didn't wash well. Very poor quality!!! I recently purchased this item for my daughter. I am so disappointed!!! I realize the cost was very low but it was not worth any money at all. The thread count is so low you can see right throught the compforter!!! When I washed it hoping to soften it, it became crispy and scratchy. My daughter woke up with a rash....ugh! Very cute Really cute . Shades of pink & lavender. Very girly. A must have for Little Mermaid fans.

A great distraction We got this for our 2 and 1/2 year old for our trip to Disney World. Any time we had a long wait (the parade especially) we whipped it out for her to amuse herself. Not only did she love it, but every little girl who could see it quickly gathered to stare longingly at it. Now that we are home, she plays with it every day. My only problem with is that since there are so many SMALL accessories (shoes, necklaces etc...) they are very easy to lose. So you have to keep an eye for glass slippers when you vacuum. Otherwise, I would say this is our best "Princess" purchase yet. Perfect for Quiet Time and Traveling My daughters, 3 and 5, play with this everyday. They never seem to get bored with it, and spend at least 20 or more minutes quietly playing. The book is also great for taking on trips! Sure beats paperdolls! When i got this it was just amazing because you didn`t have to punch out anything you just take the sticker and stick and it`s reusable so you can you use it again and again this is the best dress up books i ever gotten!

essential video From the moment that Prince Eric's ship emerged from the fog in the opening credits it was apparent that Disney had somehow, suddenly recaptured that "magic" that had been dormant for thirty years. In the tale of a headstrong young mermaid who yearns to "spend a day, warm on the sand," Ariel trades her voice to Ursula, the Sea Witch (classically voiced by Pat Carroll), for a pair of legs. Ariel can only succeed if she receives true love's kiss in a few day's time and she needs all the help she can from a singing crab named Sebastian, a loudmouth seagull, and a flounder. The lyrics and music by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken are top form: witty and relevant, and they advance the story (go on, hum a few bars of "Under the Sea"). Mermaid put animation back on the studio's "to do" list and was responsible for ushering Beauty and the Beast to theaters. A modern Disney classic. --Keith Simanton Fans awaiting a revamp of The Little Mermaid on DVD should be pleased to know that the new, fully restored version gets the treatment it deserved all along. The Special Edition is presented in 1:78 aspect ratio, as opposed to the original 1:66 presentation, and gone is the grainy original transfer, which had Ariel's mottled complexion looking like she spent some time in a tanning bed. Various crew members chime in on the audio commentary track, but most dominant is composer Alan Menken, who adds in previously taped interviews with the late lyricist Howard Ashman (a welcome surprise). There's also a 45-minute "making of" documentary in which everyone from animators to Jeffrey Katzenberg and Leonard Maltin reflect the limp state of Disney animation before Mermaid kicked off its "golden reign" of the early '90s. Another revelation: Katzenberg nearly eliminated "Part of Your World" from the movie after a hyperactive kid sitting in front of him appeared restless during a test screening. Other features: a documentary on Hans Christian Andersen, and the tragedy of his personal life that inspired his much darker original ending. (The mermaid, unable to stab the prince in the heart after he marries another, turns into sea foam.) Included is an animated short of Andersen's "The Little Match Girl," a tale so depressing--again, reflecting the loneliness in Andersen's own life--it's not really clear how it ever became a "beloved bedtime story." There's also a sing-along feature, which jumps right to the musical numbers with words appearing onscreen. Deleted scenes include one unused song, "Silence is Golden," and various early sketches of alternate takes. One curious addition is a virtual Little Mermaid amusement park ride, which was originally proposed for Disneyland but failed to come to life. (Seems digitizing the experience for people to "ride" in their living room was the consolation prize.) The only blasphemous feature is a music video of "Kiss the Girls," reimagined as a Hilary Duff-esque rock song--minus the charming calypso beat that made it famous(!)--sung by the Hilary Duff-esque Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical). Aside from that, if you own The Little Mermaid in its 1999 incarnation of DVD, get the special edition and leave your old one for the kids (or the dog) to scratch up. --Ellen A. More importantly perhaps, the audience loved it. The movie went on to gross almost $90 million domestically and $200 million worldwide. A huge phenomenon. The video release, which followed in May 1990, generated huge numbers in sales and sold over 23 million copies in the US as of 1998. And you mustn't forget the songs, which quickly became a driving force in the film's success. Alan Manken created an irresistible score for the movie, and together with lyricist Howard Ashman, composed some of the finest songs ever heard in a Disney film. They later took the Oscars for 'Best Song' (for "Under The Sea") and 'Best Score'. They also won in the exact same categories at the Golden Globe and the Grammy awards. The soundtrack eventually went triple platinum in the US.The animation in the film, is, in one word, dazzling. The underwater scenes are impressive in particular. Needless to say it would also include a highly enhanced version of the film (and sometimes even newly added sequences, such as is the case with "Beauty and the Beast" & "The Lion King"). On the 1999 DVD release of "The Little Mermaid", Disney did only little in restoring the film's look; this time, there's much more to look forward to. Disney gives each one of the films a deluxe treatment, especially in the visual and sound departments.'Til then, sit back and enjoy the film as it is: charming, innovative, and most of all - fun. A fantastic movie, but you may want to wait.... This is no doubt a beautiful and classic disney film. My advice: Wait for the 2-disc "Platinum Edition" to be released. It will contain the extra bonus features that the "Limited Issue" lacks. Also, if you wait you can probably find it for about 20 dollars, which is much better than buying it second hand right now for a ridiculous price. You will get more for your money if you wait! Also, you should know that Disney has decided to speed up their releases with the Platinum series (from 1 every year to 2 each year). So, Little Mermaid will be out in October of 2006. So, if you can wait a year and a half to get the better version, I would recommend it! Especially if you're into extras and bonus features (because the limited issue has NONE!) So, if anyone is interested, Cinderella is the next Platinum DVD to come out in October of 2005, followed by Lady and the Tramp in March of 2006, and then (finally!) Awsome Clock Radio for the little Princess in every home. We got this for my daughter, she is a Disney Proncess Nut, dresses like one, and wants to have anything, and everything Princess. (We hope it is just a phase, she used to be into Dinosaurs. It could be alot worse, and you are only a kid once so what the heck.) But it wakes you up to differnt recognizable Princess tunes. It is very durable, and well made, and looks great.I don't know what else to say, it wakes her up in the morning, and at least for now, she is in a much better mood than when the buzzer or mom/dad woke her up.I highly ecomend this product for your little Princess. Not what I expected Although the clock is cute, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I was under the impression that the disney princess alarm sounds were actual songs. Instead, your 5 choices are a ringing bell with birds chirpping, someone giggling with a bell ringing, someone giggling with the ocean waves, someone saying la la la, and a magic wand sound. You also have the choice to wake up to the radio. Overall, the clock is OK, but it is not what I expected. I like it, but the sounds are not what I expected. I love the clock, but I expected better disney sounds. I like the harp to wake up to, but the giggling and such is not what I expected. Though the radio, clock, etc. is great high quality. I love the big snooze button.

Fine Sheets for A Kid
I bought this set for my almost three year old as she moved into her big girl bed. Kids this age wet the bed, get sick, get bloody noses, play with messy stuff etc. etc. I did not want to pay a lot for sheets that would spend a lot of time either in use, or in the wash undoing the use. I bought these because my daughter likes the Little Mermaid and most importantly, they were on sale for under $30 for the set. The sheets are very bright and wash well but are on the thin side and not all that soft. They are fine for the price I paid but no way would they be worth the original price tag. My daughter likes them. They fit the (bunk) bed and wash well. That along with a reasonable price tag gets my approval.

Rubbish
I've also written a review for the Halloween dress sold with these shoes. Both of them broke during the first day of wear, but I could fix the dress. The shoes actually rip in the fabric, and I don't know what idiot got the idea to make children's shoes out of fragile polyester, or any shoes for that matter. After a few days of use they became really ugly, ripped and torn everywhere, but they never completely break, so I can't throw them away! Sadly, my daughter loves them anyway. I wish I'd never bought them. Extremely bad value that stares me in the face every day.
Toys 'R Us stock an excellent, durable alternative for five dollars. We have the Ariel pair and they are well made and GOOD value.
Bah-humbug....Santa stole from 4-year olds!
Gee....we ordered the item on Dec. 8? It's now January 6...well past Christmas? The item we PURCHASED never has been delivered. I guess this is how some people get their Christmas present money. I contacted the vendor. No effective results were obtained there. I would never recommend buying anthing from this vendor.

Rips easily
Got this for my granddaughter, who's 3, and loves the "Polly Pockets" stuff that my 8-year-old granddaughter outgrew. After the second time she played with the Disney pieces, most of the clothes were "in pieces", as opposed to the Polly Pockets clothes that lasted mostly intact for years. I'm very disappointed in the quality and would think twice about buying something like this by Disney again.

The most neglected of Disney's Princesses gets a long awaited update!
She is beautifully updated and finally available for a newer generation of Disney Princesses. She is dressed in a gorgeous gown and the inclusion of the tiara is just perfect. Most of the available Disney Princesses shamefully neglect Mulan, Pocahontas (a really historical princess) and Jasmine. That is a shame for the growing racial and biracial population of the US. Disney! Wake up and check out the "Colors of the Wind" and have more toys made up for the nonwhite little girls who need a doll that looks like them.

Beautiful Doll for Princess Fan
My four year old daughter loves Disney Princesses, and has all six in this "Shimmer' series of Disney Princess Dolls; they don't come with many extras, just a crown, shoes, and a scepter that can be used as a ring, but they are (usually) more reasonably priced than some of the other, more elaborate versions of Disney Princess dolls.
Best of all, this particular Aurora/Sleeping Beauty doll is gorgeous! It's my favorite out of all six of the Shimmer Princesses.
Recommended if you want a simple yet lovely Aurora doll.

The perfect gift for your Disney Princess lover
My 3yr old daughter found this book at the library and loved it! She hadn't been too exposed to the whole Disney Princess thing until then and this book caused her to become obessed with them! We bought her the book and in the last 6 months that she has had it she looks at it almost everyday. I would definately recommend this book to any little girl. It covers 6 different Disney Princesses and devotes at least 4 pages to each. It is easy to read out loud and you can pick and choose what parts to read. I am giving one to our 2 yr old niece for Christmas!
Cute, Short Book
This is a cute book for a younger Disney princess lover. It is not very long and is not set-up as stories to read (other than a short synopsis introducing each princess)but rather random facts about each character. For $10, it isn't so much for a large hardcover book your toddler will love to flip through on occasion. If you are looking for princess stories to read together, try another book.

Snodgrass Vacation

A fun spoof of Disney World and the people who love it... Dave Jevik wasn't too happy to hear that his wife had scheduled a family vacation to Snodgrass World Resort with the Zandanels. Loudmouth Vinnie is hard to put up with for an hour, let alone a week. But when Vinnie spots wheelchair-bound George Van Morrison in first class on the flight to Florida, the dreaded trip takes on a sense of purpose. Van Morrison claims he was injured at a restaurant owned by Dave's friend back home and the lawsuit has already been filed. Dave and Vinnie just know he's faking it and they have a week at Snodgrass World to save the restaurant by proving it. This product was very impressive for the price. The wood on shelf and frame are of descent hard wood. The images are beautiful. Don't hesitate to by this. You won't be disappointed.
Perfect for a princess' room!
This bundle is a great value. The book ends are very cute. They aren't very heavy, but they are perfect for my twins. They are two years old, so they frequently pick them up and play with them. The frame isn't very elaborate, but it is cute, and you can stand it on a table or hang it on a wall. The toy bins aren't too big, but not too small either. They actually fit great in their bookcase. We put small toys in them, like little figurines, or their baby dolls clothing and bottles. The growth chart is pretty and comes with a velcro diamond to stick to the chart. And the coat rack is the best! They love it. I hung their princess dresses on the hangers that come included and hung them on the coat rack. Now my girls can easily access their dresses and change themselves when they want to play dress up. Overall, I was really impressed with this set, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for that little extra something to complete the princess theme.
